I was like HOLY S**!…Letterpress tastes awesome

This morning was very exciting, not only because the sun was shining invitingly through the window as I opened my eyes, but because I had a very important meeting to get to in about an hour. That meeting was with The Distillery - a relatively new letterpress studio, based in Darlinghurst, with rugged, heavy, vintage letterpress machines and paper so pretty and dainty any designer would get the t i i i i ngles. 

Letterpress studios are a thing of magic, beauty, contrasts - a print designer’s heaven. They feel like coming to your granny’s cozy little kitchen, while she tells you funny stories of a by-gone era, in a gentle soothing voice.

I had a press check for some business cards I’d designed a little while ago for a beauty products wholesaler, Eva Natural. It went great! Of course, this being my first acquiantance with the letterpress beauties, I had to get my camera, and luckily the staff were all for me taking some snaps.

It is exciting to have such a great little place in Sydney…I can’t wait till my cards are ready, or till another letterpress job!
